What is an approximate cost for a small tattoo?

I want to get a small tattoo (about 2 inches square) on my wrist, black ink with maybe a little green. I know it depends on artist, location, whether the artist designs it (a friend of mine is designing it for me) and that kind of thing, but I was hoping to get an approximation other than those variables so I have a better idea of how much I need to save for it. I don't know anyone with a tattoo that small to ask, so I have no clue what to expect in terms of price. Thanks!
