I Have a question about my male cat....?

He is 7 years old, fixed, a bit over weight, he weighs 12lbs. He is on Purina Natural life with cranberry because he has issues with crystals in his ureter. Had to take him to the vet twice. He has been doing fine. However for the past 2 nights, he has been meowing alot and wants outside. ok, let me back up here a bit. Also, a few nights ago, before all this happened their was 2 or 3 cats arguing or breeding outside my daughters bedroom window. The night after they were fighting, my male cat started meowing and wanting outside. Also, a few days ago I had smelled what smelled like male cat spray in my bathroom. (next to my daughters room, but the bathroom door stays closed, I have a 5 months old puppy.) Now, my male cat sleeps in my daughters room, meowing on his way in their. He has never done that. I also watched him use the litter box, and it looked like he just sat their, and nothing was in the box, unless litter takes awhile to absorb. But, I did change it today, and their was alot of pee and poop in it. (I have 2 cats). Also, my cat is not going to the litter box alot, (like he did when he had a uti and the blockages. He would be in their every 3 minutes. He is also occasionally going into my room then to my daughters room to sleep. Im confused, and worried about him. Is he just doing this because the other outside cats? Or could he have another problem. He eats and drinks and plays and cuddles. Any ideas? I also thought I had a cat under my apartment duplex, their is a crawspace that they can get into that isint blocked, which explains the spray smell in the bathroom.
